A couple of weeks ago, I visited the Korean Folk Village in Yongin, not far from Suwon. This is a sort of cultural theme park which highlights old-style Korean living in the Folk style. lol. There, I saw:
- Equestrian Arts demonstrations
(sorry for the photo quality – the throng was quite great!)
- Tightrope walking?
- Silk Spinning Demonstration
And this is where silk comes from!
Remember that silkworm thing I ate a few weeks ago – same thing.
- An old-fashioned wedding procession
- Archery Demonstrations & Trials
The master archer!
My friend and I tried our hands at it – I made this ONE shot! lol. the rest didn’t hit the target.
- A smith making knives & stuff
- cotton spinning
- Traditional Roofing methods
There were also animals which were traditionally kept:
And of course, different kinds of traditional houses!
Last, but not least, there is a Buddhist Temple on the grounds, too.
There’s even an amusement park! My friend and I only rode two rides – but it was fun!
This was definitely a nice day out!
In some ways, this reminded me of Old Missouri Town 1855, which brings back fond elementary school memories. 🙂
