I love September! As you might possibly imagine, being a Nerdy Girl and all, I always loved going back to school:
*cue grandpa voice* “Back in my day, we didn’t start school until the day after Labor Day.”
Also, September heralds a return to cooler weather, cozy sweaters, and pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. This September is my first in Korea; I am interested to see how similar it is to what I’m used to back in Missouri.
Today marks (give or take a couple of days) my 9th month in Korea. Tomorrow also starts month #2 at my new school. I feel that this is not merely a coincidence, but maybe a slight prodding from the universe telling me to stop dilly-dallying and start the next phase of my renewal process.
(For people who have known me for a while, you know that 2, 9, 29, 92, and all combinations of 2 and 9 are my favorite numbers -the reasons why are silly and worthy of their own post someday.)
So, what does this mean for you, fair reader? It means I am going to be a more dedicated writer. I have so much I can tell you about, but I’ve been über-lazy about it. In the following weeks, you will read about:
- Buddha Belly Beach Blast at Deokjeok-do in May
- The week my mom spent in Korea during July
- Moving house via Public Transportation in the midst of Summer.
- Awesome Seoul apt vs Awful Suwon apt
- DMZ Scavenger Hunt!
- Bad hagwon vs. Good hagwon
- Why it’s a good idea to use 3rd party texting apps
- and other stuff that I’ve forgotten about as I’m sitting here making this list.
The Nerdy Girl v2.0 Renewal Plan is still a work in progress, but will also include: personal enrichment, healthy lifestyle changes, and continued education.
As always, I want to know what you want to read about. Do you miss seeing school lunches? Do you want to see more urban adventures? Do you want to bankroll me so that I can travel around Asia? (Just kidding about that last one – unless you are into that sort of thing )
Update: As I published this, WordPress told me that this is my 29th post to this blog! Woah – the universe is trying to get my attention!
